Fall in Clark County is a season filled with color, flavor, and community spirit. The crisp air, golden leaves, and cozy evenings set the perfect backdrop for gathering with friends and neighbors. From local races to pumpkin patches and seasonal festivals, there’s something happening for every age and interest. It’s a time to slow down, enjoy the traditions that make this area so special, and maybe even discover a new favorite event along the way.

To help you soak up the best of the season, We’ve pulled together a roundup of upcoming fall events in our community. I’m grateful every day to call Clark County home, and I love seeing the ways it brings us all together.

One of my favorite parts of living in Clark County is we are surrounded by fresh, seasonal produce from locally owned farms! And come Fall time, that means u-pick pumpkin patches, corn mazes, harvest festivals, and more! This annual month-long event is such a fun way to get out and enjoy the fantastic local restaurants in town. This year marks it’s 10th anniversary so if you’ve never tried it out, I definitely recommend it!

OCTOBER - HOLIDAYS ON FRANKLIN STREET

"Halloween has arrived at Holidays on Franklin! Located in west Vancouver, displays are held through October nightly, with trick-or-treating on Halloween night. Enjoy lights, music, special effects, and the spooky season! 🦇🍬👻”

OCT 3 - 19TH ANNUAL “PUMPKIN PAGEANT,” & WIZARD OF OZ FIRST FRIDAY
Downtown Camas

Event Description
"We love the fall and we love a fun costume contest! Join us October 3rd, 5-8pm, for the 19th Annual “Pumpkin Pageant,” & Wizard of Oz First Friday!

Participating downtown businesses each will carve/decorate a pumpkin and you get to vote for your favorite! Voting enters you to win cool fall-themed prizes! Come dressed as your favorite Wizard of Oz character and enter the Costume Contest! Prizes will be given for Best Costume Winners and Runners up for adults and children, as well as a prize for Best Group Costume.”

OCT 4 - BIRDFEST & BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL
Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge

Event Description:
"BirdFest and Bluegrass is the main event every year that the Friends & the City of Ridgefield put on to bring awareness to Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, and all that it has to offer. We celebrate the Sandhill Crane returning to the Refuge, a huge stately bird that is endangered in Washington State, and we celebrate everything the Refuge is and what it brings to the community. With endangered species, hundreds of migratory species, an auto tour route, photo blind, walking trails, habitat restoration programs, and so much more – there is a lot to celebrate, and a lot to learn.”

OCT 4 - OLD APPLE TREE FESTIVAL
Old Apple Tree Park

Event Description
”The annual Old Apple Tree Festival is a celebration centered on the oldest living apple tree in the Northwest, planted at Fort Vancouver in 1826.

Providing fun, food, music, and history of Vancouver’s Old Apple Tree, the festival celebrates our community and its rich heritage. Throughout the day, Urban Forestry Commissioners give away cuttings from the Old Apple Tree; cuttings are limited and will be given out until they are gone. This free, family-friendly event, features activities for children, food for sale, apple tastings and sales, live music, cider pressing and walking tours of Fort Vancouver Village, the Fort Vancouver Historic Orchard and the Land Bridge. ”

McMenamins on the Columbia

OCT 11 - 12 - CHELATCHIE PRAIRIE RAILROAD - FALL LEAVES SPECIAL

Event Description
"With the changing of the leaves and the crispness in the air, this event promises to be exciting. The run will be a steam excursion, through a 330 foot solid rock tunnel, to the Heisson area with a stop at Moulton Station to visit Yacolt Falls. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure to allow sufficient time to pick up your tickets and board the train.”

OCT 12 - GIRLFRIENDS RUN HALF MARATHON
Vancouver Waterfront Park

Event Description
"The 18th Annual Girlfriends Run offers a Half Marathon, 10K & 6K designed specifically for women to get together to do something good for themselves and to help support a very important women’s cause. Benefits the Pink Lemonade Project.

We started this event to honor and support one of our BFFs, Joleen Skarberg, who was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and continues to run it every year with her daughters, sisters, nieces, cousins and girlfriends! Watch for her – she’ll be wearing #1!“

OCT 18 - LUMINARIAS DIA MUERTOS
Vancouver Lake Park

Event Description
"Please join us at Esther Short Park for a Day of the Dead ancestral celebration to remember and honor those who have departed. Día de Muertos is truly a celebration of life, love and healing.

Experience beautiful luminarias, traditional Mexican dancing, music, guest artists, catrinas and an ofrenda of the beloved deceased. This free, family-friendly event will take place rain or shine.”

OCT 26 - SCARY RUN HALF MARATHON, 10K & 5K
Reflection Plaza

Event Description:
”RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!

Join us for our 9th Annual Scary Run on October 27th, 2024.

Get out your Halloween costumes and be prepared to be scared out of your wits. If the running doesn’t increase your heart rate, being chased by monsters, zombies and psycho freaks will!”

OCT 29 - BOO BASH
Downtown Camas

Event Description:
”Bring the whole family down for some Downtown Camas trick or treating, Wednesday, October 29th, 2024 from 3-5pm. Local businesses give out candy or neat Halloween prizes to all the kiddos. Seeing all the kids (and many parents, too!) dressed in costume is exceptionally fun. Always a few surprises as well! Come and enjoy your community! RAIN OR SHINE, WE WILL SEE YOU THERE! 

4th Avenue from Adams to Franklin and side streets from 3rd to 5th will be closed for the event to ensure children’s safety. Please no bikes, skateboards, or scooters. Parents please provide supervision when crossing streets.”

NOV 27 - TURKEY TROT
Klineline Pond and Salmon Creek Park

Event Description:
”This 5K run/walk and 10K run benefit people experiencing hunger in our community. 100% of the race proceeds are donated directly to Clark County Food Bank. Over the past years, Turkey Trotters have raised enough funds to provide hundreds of thousands of meals to food-insecure individuals in our community. We are so grateful for your support! ”
