Salmon Creek covers over 6-square miles north of Vancouver, where the I-5 and I-205 freeways meet. The area features million dollar homes as well as more modestly priced duplexes. Located close to both major freeways in the area, people in Salmon Creek can get to the Portland International Airport in just over 20 minutes, a 25-minute drive to downtown Portland.

The Salmon Creek Neighborhood is also home to Legacy Salmon Creek Hospital. The full-service hospital opened in 2005 and stands as Southwest Washington’s most modern hospital.

As part of the Vancouver School District, the Salmon Creek Neighborhood has two elementary schools – Chinook and Salmon Creek – as well as Alki Middle School and Skyview High School. The Skyview SMT Magnet program helps students interested in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects.

Perhaps the crown jewel of the neighborhood, though, is the Vancouver branch of Washington State University. Originally opened in 1996 with a few programs for the final two years of undergraduate work, WSUV now houses 35 fields of study, some covering all four-years of school.
